Airline travel often means passing the time watching the latest blockbuster movies. However, on my recent transcontinental flights, I decided to immersed myself in four powerful documentaries that left me inspired, energized, and challenged to think more deeply on purpose, leadership, and resilience.
- “WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn” is a documentary that delves into the rise and dramatic fall of WeWork, a company once valued at $47 billion.
- “Project Iceman” is an inspiring documentary that chronicles the journey of Anders Hofman, an amateur athlete, as he attempts to complete the first-ever long-distance triathlon in Antarctica, termed the “Iceman.” This ambitious endeavor pushes the boundaries of human endurance and explores themes of resilience, determination, and the power of the human spirit.
- “Billion Dollar Heist” is a gripping documentary that presents one of the most audacious and sophisticated cybercrimes in history: the theft of $81 million from the central bank of Bangladesh. The film examines the intricate details of the heist, the global manhunt that followed, and the broader implications for cybersecurity in the financial sector.
- “Runner” is an inspirational documentary that follows the incredible journey of Guor Mading Maker, a South Sudanese refugee who overcomes immense adversity to become an Olympic marathon runner. The film highlights themes of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of dreams against all odds.
After watching those documentaries, I had one reflection. Our determination and drive can lead us to achieve something inspirational or destructive. What makes the difference… our INTENSIONS.
If you’re looking for thought-provoking viewing experiences that go beyond disposable entertainment, I can’t recommend these documentaries enough. They are perfect for engaging your mind while traveling.
